Akira - Poster Series
I set out to create a series of contemporary posters based on the classic animated film Akira. I wanted to capture the intensity of the iconic imagery but keep the illustration as simplistic as possible while making use of negative space. The most memorable themes, at least for me, are Tetsuo's addiction to the pills (which are what essentially push him over the edge) and his struggle to remain in human form when he is no longer able to control his powers.
